The objective of this document is to get a signed declaration from an outgoing employee acknowledging his obligations about non-disclosure of confidential information and responsibility to participate in knowledge transfer upon termination of the employment arrangement;

Once an employment contract terminates, it is difficult to restrain outgoing employees from spilling over the confidential information upon joining another establishment;

Knowledge transfer is another important aspect where cooperation of an outgoing / former employee is required for the smooth continuance of the business particularly handled by the said employee;

One essential pre-requisite of this document is that the employee should be bound by confidential covenants through the employment contract.
